Simon vs. The Week-Long Celebration: Giveaway

Hello and welcome to the first in what will be a week-long series of posts in celebration of Becky Albertalli’s forthcoming 2015 debut, Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda! Set to be released tomorrow on April 7th, 2015, this novel is one that I haven’t been able to stop talking about since I first read it back in August 2014 and it is my honour to support this wonderful novel and its equally wonderful author in whatever small way I can. I’ve recommended this book to my family, my friends, and to strangers both online and off, and I will not rest until everyone I know reads (and adores) it as much as I do. To kick off this week’s festivities, today I’m hosting a giveaway which includes a signed edition of Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda as well as a number of items I ordered and had custom-made on Etsy. Read on to learn a little more about the prizes and how to enter today’s contest!

Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised.

With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out — without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.

One lucky winner will win a gift box containing the following items:

● One signed edition of Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda
● One custom-made Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda-themed necklace
● One Oreo and milk-themed ring
● One Oreo and milk-themed candle
● Four Oreo-themed soaps

All items were selected and purchased by me and I can personally attest to their quality. My only regret is that I didn’t purchase an additional set for myself!

This contest will run from April 6th – April 20th, 2015 and is open to residents of the U.S. and Canada.

  1. I eat my Oreos the only way to eat them, I eat the top chocolate piece first than I eat the rest of it like it is a separate cookie. So it’s like getting two cookies in one!

  2. Makes me want to have a break while munching on some Oreos and Resses while reading Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda.

  3. HOW I EAT OREOS
    1. Remove top cookie.
    2. Collect ALLLLL cream.
    3. Compress with last cookie.
    4. Gobble.
    Yeah, that’s right!
Anyway, thanks for the giveaway though.

  4. I just love this book & am featuring Simon on BooksYALove.com on April 22 ascthe S post for April AtoZ Challenge!

Of course, it’s essential to twist open the Oreo, scrape off the cream with one’s teeth, debate on whether or not to get all those choco-crumbs stuck in one’s teeth, make final decision on cookie consumption based on how much milk is left in the mug!

  5. Oreos- crush a whole lot of em and make them as toppings to graham cakes, added with blueberries, strawberries and cranberries! <3

  6. I like to eat mine with Cookies and Cream icecream, crush some Oreos on top, and then scoop that onto a double stuf’d and eat it.

  7. So excited to read this book! I eat my Oreos my dropping a bunch in my glass of milk and letting them soak for a few minutes till they are nice and crumbly.

  8. Oreos- crush whole lot of them and put them as toppings to a blueberry/ strawberry/ cranberry smoothie. Eat! Enjoy! And laugh like you don’t care! 🙂

  9. How I like to eat oreos?
Pull them apart, lick the cream then eat the cookie! (unless if they’re birthday cake oreos, then i eat the cookie normally icing is too sweet and the chocolate cookie is amazing w it)

  10. I binge eat my Oreos while binge watching something on Netflix or Hulu…
    Apparently I’m into binging stuff.
I don’t eat them while reading cuz I don’t like getting my books dirty…

  11. Pull them apart, eat the plain cookie first, then the one with the cream on it. Thanks for the giveaway!

  12. I eat my oreos by dipping them in milk until they almost fall apart. Then you keep eating Oreos until you run out of milk. The motto is no sipping, only dipping. Sometimes you eat the whole box, but who’s really complaining? 😉 🙂

  13. I eat my oreos by either….

    A. Dipping them in milk until they get soft enough to almost break and then eat it.

    or

    B. With peanut butter! Because, let’s face it, The Parent Trap made me do a lot of things.

    🙂

  14. I don’t actually eat Oreos anymore ( I’m lactose intolerant) but back when I did I would break them apart, lick the frosting off, then put the cookies back together and eat those. 🙂
