Do! Judge A Book By Its Cover is a regular feature on Pop! Goes The Reader in which I pay tribute to some of the best and brightest the publishing world has to offer in the way of book cover design.
I don’t think I can adequately express how thrilled I am that illustrated covers have continued in prevalence and popularity in 2022! I find the variety of artistic styles exciting and inspiring and I love to see how each artist interprets and expresses the plot and themes of the novel on the book’s cover on their own unique way. I also love that we’re beginning to see the use of mixed media in the form of photography and illustration, as in the case of Beauty and The Besharam by Lillie Vale and How Maya Got Fierce by Sona Charaipotra as seen below.
