What I Plan To Watch During #31HorrorFilms31Days 2017

Well, October is right around the corner and my fellow horror movie fans will know what that means: it’s almost time for #31HorrorFilms31Days to begin! For those who aren’t familiar with it, #31HorrorFilms31Days is essentially exactly as it sounds – an online game that challenges participants to watch 31 horror films in 31 days. You can read a little more about #31HorrorFilms31Days here.

I would like to start by saying a special ‘thank you’ to Roger, who encouraged me to share the list of movies I intend to watch this year ahead of time so that everyone can watch along with me, should they so choose. I would absolutely love to be able to share this experience with all of you, and will be documenting the films I watch and my feelings about them on Twitter, so please make sure to follow me if you want to stay up-to-date and watch along with me! Last year was my first time participating in #31HorrorFilms31Days and while I was woefully unprepared (I learned of the challenge after it had already begun and ended up re-watching a lot of old favourites because I hadn’t made a plan beforehand. I shared a post of my favourites of the films I watched last year here) I wanted to make things a little more interesting for myself this year and have decided to make a conscious effort to only watch and count films I’ll be viewing for the first time. I actually forewent seeing a few of the films below in theatres so I could save them specifically for this event!

That said, as you might have already noticed, my list is a little short. I currently have 27/31 movies on my to-watch list, and would love some suggestions as to what to watch for the final four films! I ideally would love to watch both Dario Argento’s Suspiria and Kim Jee-woon’s A Tale of Two Sisters, but I’m having a little difficulty finding HD quality, affordable copies. Is there a movie you think I just have to include in this year’s #31HorrorFilms31Days challenge? Let me know in the comments – I would love to hear from you!

These choices are listed in no particular order.

  1. Your list is very thorough and visually pleasing! Just put my little list to shame, lol. Very unusual movies too, I’ve seen Get Out and Witch, but that’s about it. I can’t wait to see what you think of some of these flicks! Happy viewing!!
